Matthew 28:19-20 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
These passages of Scripture found in the Gospel of Matthew are known as the “Great Commission.” It is the goal of Forest Area Baptist Church to fulfill this very command of God given to the local church. We have been given this command to seek the lost (“GO”) have them added unto the local church (“baptizing”) and our duty to instruct them in the things of God (“Teaching them to observe all things”). These new converts are known as “disciples”. The word “disciple” means “student.” It is important that the local church take on the responsibility to teach these new students, to help them grow in the love and admonition of the Lord. If they are left to their own to learn, the Bible warns us that they could be overtaken by the cares of the world and not grow (Matthew 13:3-8).
Forest Area Baptist Church has answered this command and we have classes designed to instruct the new believer in those things which God has commanded us (His Holy Word, the Bible). We have individual classes designed to be one on one instruction with those who have trusted Christ.
We also have a ministry that reaches out to the world known as “Sending Forth The Word”( sftwm.salvationsites.com ) which we mail out lessons for the student to answer and follow up with additional lessons as they complete them. This ministry is a work at your pace ministry. If you would like to know more about these ministries please contact us at forestareapastor@gmail.com and we will be glad to answer your need.
