OUR ARTICLES OF FAITH
The Scriptures
We believe the Holy Scriptures, as contained in the sixty-six books of both the Old and New Testaments, are the verbally inspired, inerrant, infallible words of God. They are the final authority in all matters of faith, doctrine, and practice.
2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21; Isaiah 8:20
We believe in the divine preservation of God’s inspired Word through the Authorized (1611) King James Version, due to the fact the Old Testament was translated from the received Hebrew Masoritic text and the New Testament was translated from the received Greek Textus Receptus.
Psalm 119:160; John 17:17
We believe that the King James is the only translation available today that is accurate, reliable, true, pure, and correct as God’s perfect Word for the English-speaking world. It shall be the only version of the Bible to be used in all preaching and teaching ministries of this local church.
Psalm 12:6-7; Matthew 5:18; Matthew 24:35; Mark 13:31
The One True God
We believe in one true and living God eternal, creator of all things, ever present, all-powerful, allknowing, and existing in the Trinity (three persons in one – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit).
1 John 5:7; John 1:1-4; John 10:30; John 4:24
We believe in God the Father, who is the center of all life. He is altogether just, holy, and righteous in all He does and requires. He has chosen to reveal Himself to man through His creation and His Word.
John 3:16-17; John 4:21; John 5:17-47
We believe in the literal person of Jesus Christ, born unto the Virgin Mary by the power of the Holy Spirit. He was God in flesh, yet sinless. He suffered, died, was buried, and rose again in order to make full atonement for the sins of all mankind, thus offering us redemption from sin. He now sits at the right hand of God making intercession for all His saints.
Matthew 1:18-20; John 3:14-18; 18:36-37; 1 Peter 2:21-25; Hebrews 5:1-10
We believe in the Holy Spirit of God as a divine person, who participated in the creation and is active in the lives of believers today. He empowers, guides, teaches, witnesses, seals, sanctifies, and helps the believers. He convicts them of sin and bears witness to the truth of the Gospel.
John 14:16-26; 15:26-27; Acts 2:37-38; Romans 8:14-17, 26-27; 2Thessalonians 2:13; 1Peter 1:2
The Creation and the Fall of Man
We believe in the literal account of creation as per Genesis.
Genesis 1:1, 31; John 1:1-4
We believe that God created man perfect in God’s own image in order to bring glory to Himself.
Genesis 1:26-31; 1 Corinthians 1:29-31; 6:19-20
We believe that man willfully and voluntarily disobeyed God’s will, therefore bringing sin, death and condemnation (eternal separation) upon himself and all of mankind.
Genesis 3:16-24; Jeremiah 17:9; Romans 3:10, 23; 5:12; 6:23
We believe that Lucifer (Satan) is a created being, a cherub fallen from glory because of pride, the originator of sin, and an adversary of God. He is now the ruler and god of this world, earnestly and actively seeking with his fallen angels, to destroy the church and the believer. However, he is already condemned to an eternal punishment.
Isaiah 14:12-15; 1 Peter 5:8; Revelation 12:9-11; 20:10
Marriage and the Family
We believe that holy institution of marriage originated in the Garden of Eden, being ordained by God as one man and one woman entering into the sacred covenant of the marriage union, which results in the two individuals becoming one flesh in the eyes of God. The covenant of marriage is an eternal bond in God’s eyes that man cannot break.
Genesis 2:18-25; Matthew 19:3-9; Romans 7:2-3; Ephesians 5:22-32
We believe that God created intimate sexual and deep emotional relationships to be the exclusive right shared only between a man and woman who have committed to the sacred covenant of the marriage union. Any form of intimate sexual or deep emotional relationships that are permitted to develop outside of the confines of a marriage relationship between a man and a woman are direct attacks against the sanctity of the marriage union and blatant sins against the will of God for mankind.
We believe that the Scriptures clearly teach that any form of cross dressing, gender modification, transsexuality, bisexuality, homosexuality, lesbianism, bestiality, incest, pedophilia, adultery, fornication, the viewing of, or participating in the degradation of others through pornography, and all other forms of sexual perversions are acts that defile God’s creation of mankind and are viewed in Scripture as being sinful, wicked, unrighteous, unholy, and an abomination unto God.
Genesis 2:24, 19:5-13; Leviticus 18:1-30; Romans 1:18-32; 1 Corinthians 6:6-10, 7:3-5; Ephesians 5:3-5; 1 Thessalonians 4:8; Hebrews 13:4
We honor and respect the sanctity of human life, which the Scriptures declare begin at conception; all persons, unborn and living are a miracle and creation of Almighty God and deserve the respect and dignity afforded them at every stage of their life.
We believe that abortion, infanticide, euthanasia, and any form of suicide are considered to be acts of murder, and therefore against the will of God for mankind.
Genesis 1:27; Exodus 20:13; Leviticus 19:32; Psalms 139:13-14; Isaiah 44:2; Jeremiah 1:5; Romans 9:20-22; 1Timothy 5:1-2
We believe that children are a blessing from the Lord and that their parents have the God given right and biblical authority to over-see and be responsible for their children’s physical, moral, spiritual, emotional and educational upbringing. The Scriptures clearly state that parents are to love, nurture, train, and lovingly discipline their children.
Deuteronomy 6:6-7; Psalms 78:4-7, 127:3; Proverbs 22:6; Ephesians 6:4
Salvation
We believe in the necessity of being “born again” (a spiritual rebirth) for the salvation of the sinner by undeserved, unmerited grace through a repentant faith in the completed work of Jesus Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. Nothing can be performed to earn it.
John 3:3-7; John 19:30; 20:17; Ephesians 2:8-9; 4:8; Acts 4:12
We believe in the “eternal security” of the believer, in that we as children of God are sealed unto the day of redemption.
John 10:25-30; Eph. 1:13, 4:30; Hebrews 5:9; Romans 10:13
We believe that upon a person’s spiritual rebirth, they are endowed or filled with the Holy Spirit of God who empowers, guides, teaches, witnesses, seals, sanctifies, helps, convicts the believers of sin, and bears witness to the truth of the Gospel in their lives.
John 1:12; 3:3-7; 1:33-34; 14:16-18, 26; 15:26-27
We believe in baptism by complete and total immersion but only after a person has received the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour. Baptism has no saving or sin cleansing power, but it is simply the first act of obedience to Christ in the life of the believer.
Acts 2:38, 41; 8:12, 35-39; 16:30-34
We denounce the teachings of: Lordship Salvation; that a person can lose their salvation due to sin; the five points of Calvinism; baptismal regeneration; and the baptism or slaying of the spirit; because we find these beliefs go against the clear teachings of the Scriptures already mentioned.
The Church
We believe that a New Testament church is a local, called-out, visible assembly of believers. It is to be independent and autonomous in organization and control. It is to actively pursue the carrying out of the Great Commission and strive daily for the edification of the believers. It is the responsibility of the local church to reach the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Matthew 16:18; 28:18-20; Acts 2:46-47; 11:26
We believe the local church is composed of born-again, baptized believers of this present age. The saved of all the ages will one day form the Bride of Christ. We do not agree with the “universal church theory.”
Matthew 16:18; Acts 2:41-47; Ephesians 5:23-32
We believe the only ordinances of the church are to be water Baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper. Baptism by immersion shall only be administered to those persons who have professed a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ; the Lord’s Supper is to be reserved and administered to those persons having been saved and baptized; both baptism and the Lord’s Supper are to be a picture of what Christ has done for us in His death, burial, and resurrection; we are to show this until His coming.
Romans 6:1-14; 1 Corinthians 11:23-29
Separation
We believe strongly in both personal and ecclesiastical separation. The church should maintain at all times a higher standard of convictions and standards for living, so as not to bring shame to the holiness of God.
Deuteronomy 7:6-11; 2 Corinthians 6:14-18; 1 Thessalonians 5:22; 1 John 2:15-17
Spiritual Gifts
We believe that most spiritual gifts, according to the Scriptures, were dispensational gifts given to help the apostles in spreading the Gospel message during the infant stages of church growth. We believe according to Scripture that the actions taking place today in the Pentecostal and Charismatic Movements are not true to the Bible’s teachings and are not of God.
1 Corinthians 12:4-11; 14:1-40; Ephesians 4:7-16; 1 Corinthians 13:8-12; 2 John 7-11
We also reject and do not condone any activities that try to unite Christians with non-Bible believers in any attempts to fellowship or cooperate for the sake of Christian unity.
2 Corinthians 6:14-17; 11:13-15
Prophecy
We believe in the bodily resurrection and blessed hope; the pre-tribulation rapture of the saved children of God, living and dead; and a seven-year period of Tribulation.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Titus 2:13; Daniel 9:24-27
We believe in the pre-millennial return of Christ to the earth to war against the Anti-Christ and his armies and in the millennial kingdom (a 1,000-year reign of peace with Christ on the earth).
Revelation 19:11-21; 20:4-6
We believe in the Great White Throne Judgment and the eternal damnation to the Lake of Fire of all nonbelievers.
Revelation 20:11-15
We believe in a literal Hell that is burning with fire and brimstone. Anyone who does not accept Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour, regardless of their lifestyle, will burn with indescribable pain, anguish, and torments for all eternity, totally separated from the love of God.
Luke 16:19-31; Revelation 20:14-15
We believe in a literal Heaven where the saved children of God dwell surrounding the throne of God to sing praises and glories unto Him. All born-again, blood-washed saints shall eternally reign with Him in the New Jerusalem forever.
Revelation chapter 21
